SINN watches on rough road simulation track

Have you ever wondered how our watches would react to huge jolts and vibrations? Can they truly withstand the impact as they all claim?

Well, Sinn has the answer to this. In order to demonstrate how their watches would react to shocks, they contacted the internationally-recognised Fauenhofer-Institut LBF of over 70 years in experience, to put their watches to the test. They conducted a no mean-feat endurance test on 5 different Sinn models where the watches are fastened onto the steering wheel of a test chassis on a simulated rough road track.

The classic watches such as the Frankfurt Finance (model 6000) are deliberately chosen in this test to showcase the hardiness of the watches. Despite the enormous stress levels to which the Sinn watches were subjected, they all passed with flying colors; proving their robustness and suitability for everyday use, even when exposed to extreme vibration and jolts.

The next time you look at your Sinn piece sitting at your wrist, you know that it’s a tough cookie.

Read about the full scope and extent of the endurance test. Please click on the pages below.

Announcement: Faster servicing time for Sinn owners! -

Owners of Sinn models with Ar-Dehumidifying technology rejoice! The proprietary technology of Sinn’s dehumidifying technology means that to date, all Sinn watches sent in to The Hour Glass for regular maintenance had to be flown back to Germany specially for the refill of the technologically sophisticated inert gas filling. This measure purges all moisture and oxygen from the case interior and keeps the movement in an atmosphere of protective gas.

We are pleased to announce that The Hour Glass, sole agent for Sinn in Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand is now able to service the watch locally, invariably cutting short the waiting time!

In our continued quest to serve you better, we have brought in the necessary equipment direct from the Sinn factory in Germany to refill your watch with the protective gas filling right here.

Now, that’s what we call scoring high-tech – coz who’s arguing with German technology?

See you soon at our boutiques!

A new Sinn watch launched in September

The large pilot chronograph 900 Pilot S - with black hard coating on TEGIMENT Technology Black signifies objectivity and functionality — which are inherent in the design of the
900 PILOTS pilot watch. But there is a further connection to the colour black: the S in the model name stands for “Schwarz” (black) — signifying the Black Hard Coating of the watch. There is an overriding SINN priority behind this — the suitability of each watch for everyday use. Toachieve this we have additionally hardened the satinised stainless steel case using TEGIMENT Technology. The hardening also provides the base to which the high-grade, black PVD coating can be applied. This combined process results in a highly practical benefit: by applying a coating with a hardness of 2,000 HV (Vickers hardness) to the hardened steel (1,500 HV), we prevent the otherwise common problem of cracking paint. The pilot watch’s other technical features also fulfil the most exacting demands in terms of precision and functionality. The black galvanised dial and the case diameter of 44 mm ensure perfect readability, for instance. Crucial features for professional use include magnetic field protection up to 80,000 A/m, the interior pilot’s bezel and the second 24-hour time zone which can easily be set using the knurled crown at 10 o’clock.

The latest Basel offering

So we got the exclusive Sinn Ultimate that got us intrigued with its interesting history followed by the highly anticipated U1 mini-me version (you asked. you got it!)

After the much touted annual Basel Fair where esteemed brands presented their novelties, ardent fans of the Sinn UXS Series would be glad to know that the famous German submarine steel encased watch now comes enveloped in a black hard coating and TEGIMENT technology that make it especially scratch-resistant. And thanks to its HYDRO technology, the oil-filled dial allows the watch to be read from every angle, even underwater, yet remaining fog-free.

Looking forward to your next dive expedition with this not-so-little accompaniment? I would be.
