Sinn U1-D Special Ops Edition Official Launch Post-Party

 

Thank you once again to fellow Sinn-ners that took the time to join us for the official launch of the Sinn U1-D, at a by-invite-only beer fest.

Sinn loyalists and The Hour Glass customers reported to Camp Brewerkz, transformed into a military playground for a boys' night out of German beer all-round and loud entertainment.

 

Hosted by actress and radio personality Ms Jamie Yeo, the party entertainment included athletic pole dance routines and live music to rock the crowd with 90's hits. 

Hard to miss were also the 35 Sinn party-hosts - a nod to The Hour Glass' 35th anniversary - to shake up the party.

 

 

The Sinn U1-D - for Dune, references to the sandy grey-tone shade and military camo inspired by a dune sand-trooper. It is a special ops edition conceptualized and created specially for The Hour Glass and is a world’s first military interpretation of the iconic Sinn U1-dive series.

Launching the U1-D Mission Dune
The Hour Glass Special Edition

We are pleased to unveil to you here at Sinn Club, the first look at our latest and edgiest U1 to date – the U1-D,  a Special Ops Edition.  After a wait of 7 years since the last U1 project, The Hour Glass and Sinn have joined forces once again to create this highly anticipated 3rd installation of the U1 collectible series. 

Taking inspiration from military codes, the Sinn U1-D is dressed in sartorial ruggedness of a sand trooper warrior – featuring a matte grey dial, contrasted with charcoal indices and sand-beige detailing – a significant departure from the U1’s minimalist black tones. Paired with a distressed tan brown calf leather strap with white stitching, the U1-D also comes in Camo Zulu strap – the final touches to the guerrilla grunge style of the mission timer. 

 

Sinn U1 has come a long way from its birth as a cult status watch whispered about and shared only amongst sports watch connoisseurs; today, the U1 is an icon in its own rights, immediately recognisable on a wrist.  Boldly different and completely unexpected, the U1-D Mission Dune is conceived by and created for The Hour Glass, leading as a global unprecedented twist to this most iconic U1 series of Sinn.

Special Limited Edition for the town of Neunkirchen / Saar - Model 6068 NK

 

A new Sinn watch, the model 6068 NK – paying homage to the birthplace of engineer Lothar Schmidt, owner of Sinn – in the city of Neunkirechen in Saarland, Germany.

 

 

 

In the presence of the Mayor of Neunkirchen, Jürgen Fried, and 120 invited guests, Sinn Spezialuhren zu Frankfurt am Main presented its special limited edition for the city of Neunkirchen on 1 October in the “Neuen Gebläsehalle”.

 

The model 6068 NK, made of polished stainless steel, symbolises the special relationship that exists between the company and the city in Saarland, the birthplace of engineer Lothar Schmidt, owner of Sinn Spezialuhren.

It is the affinity to his home town which Lothar Schmidt wanted to express through this high-quality mechanical watch. To emphasise this, the watch, which is limited to 200 units, has a number of special features.

The Neunkirchen coat of arms is imprinted on the transparent back, which is made of anti-reflective sapphire crystal glass. The transparent case back beautifully shows off the exquisitely decorated movement, which has engravings of the limited edition number and the Sinn logo on the rotor. The watch itself has a diameter of 38.5 mm and can display two time zones on a 12-hour basis. It is waterproof up to 100 m (= 10 bar) and is resistant to low pressure.

Lothar Schmidt personally presented the model 6068 NK at a grand event in the Neuen Gebläsehalle. Guests then had the opportunity to admire the watch and obtain one of the limited-edition models.
